This Privacy Policy describes how WashUp (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our platform — including our website and mobile application (the “Service”). Your use of the Service is also subject to our Terms of Service and applicable laws.

What Information is Collected

In order to enhance your user experience and improve the Service, WashUp collects information about you from two sources: (i) information you affirmatively give to Us; and (ii) information automatically collected when you visit the WashUp platform or use any Services.

Information You Give Us

In general, We receive and store any information you enter on our platform or give us in any other manner. This includes information that can identify you (“personal information”), including your first and last name, telephone number, postal and email addresses, and billing information (such as credit card number, cardholder name, and expiration date). We may also request information about your laundry preferences and other service-related information. You can choose not to provide information to us, but in general most of the information we request from you is required in order for you to place an order or schedule pickup and delivery via the Service.

To use certain aspects of the Service you will need a WashUp Account (“Account”). When you create an account, We will ask for certain personal information, including but not limited to your name and contact details, which is used to protect your Account from unauthorized access.

By choosing to use the Service you are giving WashUp, Inc. permission to use and store such personal information consistent with this privacy policy.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.

Information We Collect Automatically

In addition, WashUp automatically collects information about your interactions with the Service. For example, WashUp may log information from your device and browser, such as your IP address, profile information, aggregate user data, browser type, software and hardware attributes, pages you request, location data, and cookie information.

We collect and use location data to help you discover nearby laundromats and to facilitate pickup and delivery services. We also collect delivery tracking data — including real-time location updates from our third-party delivery provider — in order to provide order status and delivery progress information.

WashUp may use a third-party service provider to help Us gather and analyze this information about Our customers. These service providers are contractually restricted from using your information in any way, other than in helping WashUp provide you with the products and services available on Our platform. This aggregated data may be distributed by WashUp and is wholly owned by WashUp. By using the Service you are giving WashUp permission to use and store such information consistent with this privacy policy.

Cookies

You may refuse to accept cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of cookies. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of Our platform. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, Our system will issue cookies when you log on to Our platform.

How Information Is Used

We use sensitive billing information (such as cardholder name, credit card number, and expiration date) for the purpose of completing the orders you place on the WashUp platform. Payment authorization is performed at the time of order creation based on estimated weight, and final capture occurs after your laundry has been weighed at the laundromat. We use other information about you to deliver WashUp services to you and to continuously enhance your user experience. Generally speaking, We use the collected information to communicate with you, fulfill your requests, customize the content, improve Our products and services, protect Our and your rights, and comply with laws and regulations.

We want to make it easy for you to take advantage of laundry-related opportunities on the Service. One way We do this is by sending you email or SMS messages that contain information relevant to your orders and preferences, if you have consented to receiving such communications. Please note that you will have the opportunity to choose not to receive these messages.

With Whom is Information Shared

Public Information – WashUp may share as it sees fit information that you voluntarily make public. Since such public information can be accessed by the public and used by any member of the public, such use by third parties is beyond the control of WashUp.

Personal Information – If We have your express consent, WashUp may share your personal information with business partners and other third parties not affiliated with WashUp. While WashUp is not responsible for the acts of such partners, We encourage all of Our partners to adopt privacy policies that protect against the disclosure of personal information to third persons.

Partner Laundromat Operators – WashUp shares personal information with partner laundromat operators who fulfill your laundry orders. By placing an order through the Service, you are authorizing Us to disclose to those operators the information required to complete your order and deliver your laundry. These operators are not controlled by WashUp and personal information disclosed to them is subject to their applicable privacy policy and security practices.

Delivery Partners – WashUp shares relevant personal information (such as your address and contact details) with our third-party delivery partner in order to facilitate pickup and return delivery of your laundry.

Third-Party Vendors – Third-party vendors who provide services or functions on Our behalf, including credit card processing, business analytics, customer service, marketing, and fraud prevention. Third-party vendors have access to and may collect information only as needed to perform their functions and are not permitted to share or use the information for any other purpose.

Under narrow circumstances, WashUp may disclose your personal information without asking for your consent to protect the legal rights of WashUp or Our affiliates; to protect the safety and security of users of the Service or to enforce Our Terms of Service; to protect against fraud or for risk management purposes; or to comply with or respond to the law or legal process or a request for cooperation by a government entity, whether or not legally required.

Change of Control

If WashUp sells all or part of its business, makes a sale or transfer of assets, is otherwise involved in a merger or business transfer, or in the unlikely event of bankruptcy, WashUp may transfer your personal information and non-personal information to one or more third parties as part of such transaction.

How You Can Control the Information We Collect, Use and Share

You have the choice about whether to disclose your personal information or other information about yourself to WashUp. Regardless of your choices with respect to promotional communications, WashUp may send you administrative messages, service announcements, terms and conditions of your account, or other similar communications, without offering you the opportunity to opt out of receiving them.

You may also stop using your account at any time by simply logging out or by contacting us to request account deletion. Please note that if you cancel your account, WashUp may retain some information about you as required by applicable law but will discontinue posting such information on the platform.

International Users

If you are not a United States resident, you acknowledge and agree that We may collect and use your personal information, as outlined in this privacy policy, outside your resident jurisdiction. We may store such personal information in the United States, outside your resident jurisdiction. Please be aware that United States law may offer different levels of protection to personal information than are available in your country.

Children

Children are not eligible to use WashUp and We ask minors (under the age of 18) to not submit any personal information to Us. WashUp does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18 or permit them to use Our platform.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

From time to time, We may make changes to this privacy policy. In order to ensure that you are familiar with Our most updated policies and practices, you should check the effective date indicated above this privacy policy each time you use the Service. If We make any changes, We will notify you of such changes by posting the updated privacy policy on the WashUp platform. We may also send you an email alerting you of such changes. You will be bound by any such changes to the policy when you use the Service after those changes have been posted.
